Behind the scenes at INVENT
WEFTEC consistently presents an exciting challenge for INVENT, from the preparation stages to the event days themselves. The INVENT team is dedicated to delivering a unique experience for our visitors. In this interview series, INVENT employees share their personal experiences with WEFTEC. Today, it’s Patrick O’Donnell’s turn.
Could you tell us more about yourself and your role at INVENT?
I have been involved with water treatment since 1993 in some form or another. As an engineer, I really enjoyed designing equipment for applications as diverse as precious metals mining, paper, coal, and municipal wastewater. Then I was drawn toward working closer with customers to solve their issues as a Technical Sales Engineer. For the past 23 years, municipal water and wastewater has been my primary focus and I love it. Working at INVENT as a Regional Sales Manager since 2013 has been really special. We are a very small but intensely focused company, dedicated to provide our customers with the best solutions possible.
Which product do you like presenting to visitors at the INVENT booth the most?
Personally, I love talking about our mixer/aerator technology! From a process perspective, it provides the consulting engineers the most versatile tool to meet any mixing and aeration function, whether it is AGS, Low DO or Aerobic Digestion at high solids concentration. From an operational perspective, it gives WWTP Operators an extremely reliable piece of equipment that they don’t have to worry about. Our operators have a million other things to be concerned about. This shouldn’t be one of them.
If you could give one reason why no one should miss visiting INVENT at WEFTEC, what would it be?
My first WEFTEC was back in 1994, so over 30 years ago! I was absolutely amazed by all the technologies presented back then as a young engineer. Now, seeing how innovative the technologies and processes are today is amazing. And INVENT is helping with some of the most cutting edge processes in our industry: Low DO Operation, Granular Sludge, Densified Sludge, or other Intensification strategies. Visitors can ask us what we are involved in and how we help make it even better.
